As humans we have an innate need to connect with others. But modern-day living places so many demands on our time and energy, connecting with loved ones can sometimes feel like a luxury or added bonus.

Most of us want out time with others to feel happy and fun and hate to think ourselves as the "Eeyore" in the group. But in truth we all feel like this at times. Opening up to others when we feel low can be difficult even to those closest to us. We fear being a burden and don't want our loved ones to worry about us, especially if they are facing difficulties too.

Therapy can help us take that first step of reaching out and regaining that important connection with another who genuinely cares and can offer the time and space you need to talk through your thoughts and feelings. In turn this can also help repair and rebuild connections to those we truly care about.
